On my way to visit my friend, I passed St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Got so excited her home was within minutes of it! One of the first things I said to her (after saying hello to her, of course) was I wanted to see this cemetery. She already was one step ahead of me- she planned on us going!
The cemetery is a fairly large one, with an older section, newer section, and much new section, including a few mausoleums. I am unable to find when the cemetery was established, but the church was in 1834 (it appears to be, according to a “collections book”). The older section has a divider you can somewhat easily step over. We had parked in the newer section because there were a few small spots. St. James Lutheran Church (also known as Straw Church) is across the street.
