Wesley Chapel Cemetery

Last summer, my friend showed me this small cemetery. There are no signs, no fences, nothing; it’s abandoned, yet maintained. I’m not quite sure if this is part of the property of someone’s home or not, though. There is also a ball field across the way. Thanks to the Find-A-Grave app, I found this was Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

Upon research, it is also known as Old Market Street Cemetery. Yes, it is on Market Street. According to this website, there are some Revolutionary War soldiers buried here, as well as one Civil War soldier. Unfortunately, quite a few stones are broken and/or hard to read. This cemetery lies on the site of the original Wesley Chapel according to one source, but I am unable to find information online about the Chapel.

Always keep your eyes open because you never know what adventures or places you might find.
